I moved to Vermont last week, and my car overheated halfway up the mountain. we pulled over, and had to make the decision, whether to return, or to keep going. we kept on to our destination, my new home, set among rolling hills and miles of winding country roads. i felt a little panic at the knowledge that i was far from the familiar, and now my car was broken down, as she burst forth in a spray of radiator fluid, and the steering stopped working, half a mile from arrival.
There is no bus out here...so i had to rely on the kindness of friends to transport me around...and how grateful did i feel, as friends took the time to help me out...day after day, as i waited to get lolly back...it was amazing. and when car repair was done, the mechanic told me i was lucky that this broke. because, when he was in the engine, he found another part on the verge of breaking, which would have been devastating for the car's health.
So, what started out as a frightening moment of losing the car for a time, ended up leaving me with warm feelings of gratitude to light the new beginnings of this stage of my life. so event leads on to event, and we cannot guess the final outcome...leave yourself open to receive the blessings.
